About

Ms. Burton has extensive experience defending employers in connection with a wide variety of employment law claims, including claims for unpaid wages, violations of meal and rest break requirements, violations of wage statement requirements, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination.  She has represented employers in State and Federal courts and before administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission,  Civil Rights Department, and the Division of Labor Standards and Enforcement.

Ms. Burton also provides preventative advice and counsel to help employers comply with applicable local, state, and federal employment laws.  Areas of experience include state and federal leave laws, reasonable accommodation, and wage and hour issues.  Ms. Burton also assists employers by reviewing and developing legally compliant employee handbooks, drafting offer letters and severance agreements, and providing counsel regarding day-to-day employment challenges.
